About Hinckley Circuit

Welcome to the Hinckley Methodist Circuit. We hope that you’ll find a church to suit you amongst our 12 different churches.

Our churches and their communities

Our churches are in town, suburban and village communities. There is a large town church in Hinckley, fully immersed in the life of the town, with many organisations and groups meeting on church premises.

Earl Shilton is a much smaller town church but also very involved in the town community. Burbage is a suburban church, committed to rebuilding its mid-Victorian premises as part of its mission. Barwell also exercises its mission to serve the local community.

The smaller village churches in Higham, Newbold Verdon, Sapcote, Sharnford, Stapleton, Stoke Golding and Stoney Stanton all seek to offer a Christian presence in their village.

Geography of the Circuit

CircuitThe Hinckley Circuit is situated in the north-west of the Northampton District, bounded by the M1 in the east and the M69 in the south. It is in a post –industrial area where the major employment used to be in the hosiery and shoe industry but those factories have almost all disappeared. The community has sought to redefine itself with new developments but there are areas of deprivation and poverty.

What is a Methodist Circuit?

A Methodist Circuit is part of our organisational structure. A circuit consists of several churches, and itself is part of a wider group called a District.  We are part of the Northampton District. Here is a link to the District website
