The current church building was constructed in 1866 and has served the church well but it is no longer fit for worship and community outreach in the twenty-first century.
Our new church will incorporate modern I.T. equipment. The aim is to reduce the cost and environmental impact of maintaining a comfortable environment, and make the best use of its location in the center of the village.
Our intention is to grow fresh expressions of church, as well as offering both traditional and various styles of worship.
The growing outreach events which are restricted by our current available space and kitchen and catering facilities, will be transformed by the use of our new multi functional space to offer radical hospitality.
The congregation is looking forward to a new church building and anticipates that work will commence in 2016. The purpose of the new building is not simply to create a beautiful church but to further God’s mission and we are working for that purpose now.
The Leadership Team are pleased to announce that a ‘Methodist Connexional’ Grant of £200,000, has been awarded to the Church towards the new build project. We eagerly await further news as to the next step.
As of the 18th April 2016, all potential major grant applications have been made, and we eagerly await hopefully positive outcomes in due course.
As of November 2016 most of the finance is in place and we eagerly await hearing about a start date for the rebuild.
19th December 2016 and the old building is down to ground level, shortly after Christmas we will start to see the new building raise from the ground, with piling for the foundations estimated for around the 9th January 2017.
20th January 2017 and the piling is complete all filled with concrete.
