OM Supper Evening: Tuesday 7th May 2019
This was held at our Newbold Verdon church and an enjoyable and informative evening was shared by all guests who attended. Our thanks go to our friends at Newbold for hosting the evening.
Martin Cox from ‘Open Doors’ gave an excellent presentation telling us about the work which the charity undertakes with people across the continents who suffer persecution because of their Christian faith. We learned that the most dangerous country to live
I believe we all came away from the evening with feelings of gratitude and relief, that as Christians we are able to worship openly and safely without the risk of reprisal or imprisonment – something which we should not take for granted when we hear of some of the atrocities suffered by our fellow Christians abroad.
Inclusive of a retiring collection, £370.45 was forwarded to the ongoing work of ‘Open Doors’ and a further £110.00 was raised for the ‘The World Mission Fund’.
HM Supper Evening 2019: Tuesday 8th October 2019
Our friends at Sapcote Methodist Church have kindly agreed to host our next supper evening in aid of the charity, ‘Newlife’ – a charity which supports children with terminal and life-limiting illnesses. Our speaker, Elliot Gittings will be telling us about the work the charity undertakes.
Further details will be sent to all churches nearer the time.
