Newbold Verdon Methodist is a family of faith, hope and love, trying our best to follow Jesus and share his love with all.
Our church is made up of around 60 confirmed members, young and old alike, who are committed to working, giving and praying; seeking to be an authentic expression of God’s worldwide church right here in our village. We also have a wider ‘church family’ – our circle of friends and visitors who help to make the chapel a warm and exciting place.
Friendship and Fellowship
Worshipping God is central to all we do – different types of services here led by our minister or other preachers. It is a place we come to be fed and equipped for our daily lives. We are constantly arranging opportunities for friendship and fellowship, including the many different events that happen throughout the year – from our lively coffee mornings to our family picnic.
Community and Faith
We are committed to growing in faith, and finding ways to learn more – exploring our discipleship through the Wednesday evening group, the Junior Church. We have good links with local churches of different denominations – getting involved in sharing the gospel in the village and serving the community – and we are also a part of the Hinckley Methodist Circuit. Issues of poverty and justice are always in our thoughts, as we consider our responsibility to the world on many occasions through the year.
Pastoral Care
Of course, there are Christenings, funerals and weddings that are conducted in God’s name within our walls. All of this is enfolded in the pastoral care of the church, by our minister, our community pastor and pastoral visitors.
Through worship, service, evangelism, learning and caring, our calling and our passion is to communicate God’s love.
You’re always welcome to come to our church services or to other events – everyone is welcome to share this journey of faith….
